This may be unusual marital counsel, Hilary, but consider the source! Over the years I have time and again admonished you to:
(1) keep your car’s gas tank filled never letting the fuel gauge get below half; and,
(2) lock your car doors immediately after you get in and don’t open them for any reason for anyone you don’t know!
This Saturday morning before your wedding next Friday, I want to add some additional car advice that applies equally to Andrew:
(3) if after you have been out and about you get back into your car, start your engine, and then see in the rear view mirror a piece of paper or anything else stuck to the back window of your car, do NOT put your car in park and get out to see what is. If you do, there is a chance while you are doing so that a carjacker from out of nowhere may quickly jump into your car and drive off. If you are fortunate and he or she does not back over you, you can bet your bottom dollar that you have seen the last of your credit cards, money, check book, cell telephone, and identification with little or no chance for recovery of anything! So, if you see something stuck to the back window of your car, drive home before you check to see what it is.
