K&N has designed a new polished aluminum high flow air intake system (77-1558KP) for the 3.7 liter engines of the 2008 Dodge Dakota, the 2007 Dodge Dakota, the 2008 Mitsubishi Raider, and the 2007 Mitsubishi Raider.

Dynamometer tests show a 6.14 horsepower gain at 4200 RPM. K&N’s air intake design has lower restriction than the factory air box system. K&N removed the intake plenum to help smooth the air entering the throttle body.

The 77-1558KP uses a conical shaped chrome top high flow air filter (RF-1048), and a powder coated heat shield in place of the vehicle’s stock airbox. The extra large heat shield directs incoming fresh air from the factory air inlet into the air filter, isolates the K&N air filter from the engine compartment and allows it to receive a of fresh air.
